Interactive Tutorial

The Interactive Tutorial is the third of PrimeTask's onboarding tools. Where the Setup Wizard configures and the App Tour points things out, the Tutorial has you actually do the things - create a Space, make tasks, open details, set priorities, try the different views, build a project, wire up CRM. Each module earns points and a badge; finishing the required modules earns a Training Complete milestone.

It's structured as a short course, broken into eight modules that unlock in sequence. Do one a day, all in a sitting, or pick and choose - modules remember your progress.

How to start the Tutorial

• Open Settings → Help & Documentation and launch the Interactive Tutorial from there.
• The main Welcome screen also offers a quick-start link when PrimeTask detects you're new.

You can pause and resume whenever you want. Closing the tutorial doesn't lose progress.

The eight modules

Modules unlock in order - each one builds on what the previous modules taught. Here's the full sequence:

1. Create a Private Space - 100 points

Learn to create, configure, and manage workspaces.

You'll create a Space with a name, description, and colour, find it in Settings, edit it, and learn how Spaces separate your data. Unlocks immediately.

2. Create Your First Task - 75 points

Learn to create, manage, and complete tasks.

You'll navigate to the Tasks page, open the new task dialog, create a task with a specific name, and complete it. Unlocks after Module 1.

3. Task Properties - 85 points

Master priority, dates, and status.

You'll set priorities, add due dates, move through statuses, and use the task details page. Unlocks after Module 2.

4. Views & Organization - 105 points

Explore List, Board, Calendar, and Gantt views.

You'll create a small batch of tasks and see them across different views. Unlocks after Module 2 (parallel with Module 3).

5. Project Basics - 90 points

Create projects with goals, milestones, and tasks.

You'll create a project, add a description and header image, and wire up goals and milestones. Unlocks after Module 4.

6. CRM Basics - 80 points Pro

Create contacts and companies.

You'll open PrimeCRM, create a company and a contact, and explore the basics of relationship management. Requires Pro. Unlocks after Module 5.

7. CRM & Projects - 75 points Pro

Link contacts and companies to projects.

You'll enable CRM on a project and link your new contacts and companies. Requires Pro. Unlocks after Module 6.

8. Cleanup Tutorial - optional bonus - 75 points

Remove tutorial data you created.

An optional module that guides you through deleting the tutorial's tasks, projects, companies, and contacts - so you end the tutorial with a clean workspace. Unlocks after Module 7.

Points and badges

Every module has:

• Total points - completing the module awards all of them.
• A badge - a named achievement you earn on completion.
• A learnings summary - what you now know, shown on the completion modal.

Standard-tier users complete five required modules (1–5) for Training Complete. Pro users complete seven required modules (1–7). The Cleanup module is optional and shown separately as bonus content.

Training Complete

When you finish every required module for your tier, PrimeTask marks you as Training Complete. The completion screen summarises what you learned and earned. Training Complete is a milestone to be proud of - it means you've actually done the work, not just read about it.

Things worth knowing

The Tutorial uses your real PrimeTask

You're not in a sandbox - the data you create lives in a Tutorial Space that's part of your real workspace. That's the point: the skills are immediately transferable.

Modules remember your place

Close the tutorial mid-module and resume exactly where you left off. Your completed steps stay completed.

Modules unlock in sequence

Each module builds on its predecessors. Attempting to jump ahead won't work; complete the required module first.

Pro modules are skipped on Standard

CRM Basics and CRM & Projects require Pro. Standard users finish Training Complete after Module 5; the CRM modules are available the moment you upgrade.

The Cleanup module is optional

It's there for when you want a clean workspace after finishing. Skip it if you want to keep the tutorial examples as references, or run it for a tidy wrap-up.
