PrimeFlow Standard and Pro
Understand which PrimeFlow canvas, node, export, presentation, and AI-agent features are available on every license and which ones require Pro.
PrimeFlow includes a full visual workspace on every PrimeTask license: unlimited canvases, the searchable Node Library, task and project mapping, mind maps, notes, media references, groups, export, keyboard shortcuts, paste actions, and project relationship maps.
Pro adds the advanced PrimeFlow areas: files and documents, CRM nodes, portals, Cross-Space portals, External App nodes, FlowMode journeys, Mermaid diagrams, and advanced Mermaid viewing tools.

This article follows the feature matrix
PrimeTask's feature matrix is the source of truth for tier coverage. If a detailed article mentions a Pro feature, it should use the same wording as this guide.
What you can do on every license
- Create unlimited canvases in each Space
- Search the Node Library and add supported node types
- Use templates and theme presets to start faster and keep a canvas readable
- Undo and redo canvas changes
- Use auto layout and snap behavior for faster canvas cleanup
- Export canvases as PNG, WebP, or JPEG at 1x, 2x, 3x, or 4x quality
- Add work management nodes for tasks, projects, checklists, project relationships, goals, milestones, and project notes
- Add note and documentation nodes including sticky notes, Quick Notes, documentation, text labels, and emoji stickers
- Add media reference nodes including images, links, YouTube videos, X posts, audio, and video
- Create mind maps with central topics, main topics, subtopics, floating topics, summaries, and mind map templates
- Use groups to organise related nodes
- Paste images and content onto the canvas to create useful nodes quickly
- Use node shortcuts with

Standard PrimeFlow is already useful for project planning
You can map a project, connect goals to milestones, connect milestones to tasks, add notes and references, and export the result without needing Pro-only nodes.
What requires Pro
The following PrimeFlow capabilities require Pro:
- File, Folder, and PDF nodes for placing document and file references on a canvas
- External App node for opening other apps from a PrimeFlow node
- CRM nodes for contacts, companies, and activities
- Portal nodes for moving between canvases
- Cross-Space Portal nodes for moving between canvases in different Spaces
- FlowMode for guided canvas journeys
- Mermaid diagram node for flowcharts, sequence diagrams, Gantt diagrams, and other Mermaid-supported diagrams
- Fullscreen Mermaid viewer for larger diagrams
- Mermaid zoom and pan
- Side-by-side Mermaid compare
- Save Mermaid as a new version and compare
Pro wording matters
Documentation should say a capability "requires Pro" or is "part of the Pro tier." It should not describe how the app enforces licensing.

MCP follows PrimeFlow availability
AI agents can work with canvases through MCP when MCP is enabled. Pro-only node types still require Pro when used through MCP.
How to check or upgrade your license
- License Settings: Open Settings → License Settings to review your current license.
- Command palette: Press ⌘+K (or Ctrl+K) and search for License Settings.
- From a Pro feature prompt: Use the upgrade option shown by PrimeTask when you choose to upgrade.

Things worth knowing
PrimeFlow is mixed-tier by design
PrimeFlow is not one all-or-nothing feature. Core visual planning is available on every license, while advanced node families and presentation features are part of the Pro tier.
CRM nodes depend on PrimeCRM
Contact, company, and activity nodes are part of the Pro tier because they use PrimeCRM data. For the CRM side of the product, see PrimeCRM Overview.
File and app nodes can depend on the active Space
Some file and app features are device-specific. In synced Spaces, PrimeTask avoids actions that would not make sense across devices. The file and document node guide covers this in detail.

Mermaid has its own Pro tools
Mermaid is not only a node type. The Pro tier also includes tools for viewing larger diagrams, zooming and panning diagrams, comparing diagrams side by side, and saving a diagram as a new version for comparison.

Read by workflow, not by tier
If you are planning a project, start with work management nodes. If you are documenting context, start with notes and media. If you need files, CRM, portals, FlowMode, or Mermaid, check the Pro sections in the related article.

"Do I need Pro to use PrimeFlow?"
No. PrimeFlow's core canvas, Standard node families, templates, export, mind maps, groups, project relationship mapping, and keyboard shortcuts are available on every license.
"Which PrimeFlow node families require Pro?"
File, Folder, PDF, External App, contact, company, activity, Portal, Cross-Space Portal, and Mermaid nodes require Pro.
"Does FlowMode require Pro?"
Yes. FlowMode is part of the Pro tier.
"Does MCP change what my license includes?"
No. MCP lets AI agents work with PrimeTask data and actions when enabled, but it does not change tier coverage. Pro-only PrimeFlow node types still require Pro.
