PrimeFlow Templates
Use PrimeFlow templates and demo workspace profiles to start from a ready-made canvas instead of building every structure from scratch.
PrimeFlow supports two practical ways to start from ready-made structure. Inside PrimeFlow, the Templates control adds a mind map starter to the current canvas. Outside PrimeFlow, Demo Data and the Setup Wizard can create full example Spaces that include PrimeFlow canvases.
Use PrimeFlow templates when you want a starter structure inside a canvas you are already editing. Use demo workspace profiles when you want a complete example Space with tasks, projects, notes, and PrimeFlow canvases already connected.
Templates do not replace your current canvas
Choosing a PrimeFlow template adds its nodes and connections to the current canvas. Existing nodes and connections remain in place.
What you can do
Open PrimeFlow templates
from the PrimeFlow header
Add a mind map starter
to the current canvas
Choose Blank, Standard Mind Map, Project Planning, Brainstorming, or Problem Solving
Keep existing canvas content
while adding the template structure
Edit template nodes after adding them
Load demo workspace profiles
that include PrimeFlow canvases
Use Standard-compatible or Pro-rich demo canvases
depending on the features available on your license
Choose the right starting point
Use PrimeFlow templates for a focused mind map. Use Demo Data when you want a realistic workspace with projects, tasks, notes, and canvases already connected.
How to open PrimeFlow templates
- Main navigation: Open PrimeFlow.
- PrimeFlow header: Choose Templates.
- Command palette: Press ⌘+K on macOS or Ctrl+K on Windows, search for PrimeFlow, then open Templates from the PrimeFlow header.
See PrimeFlow Header and Controls for the full header guide.
PrimeFlow template types
PrimeFlow's in-canvas template control currently focuses on mind map starters.
| Template | Best for |
|---|---|
| Blank | Starting with one central topic |
| Standard Mind Map | Creating a basic central-topic map with main branches |
| Project Planning | Sketching goals, tasks, timeline, and resources |
| Brainstorming | Capturing multiple ideas from one main idea |
| Problem Solving | Breaking down a problem, causes, solutions, and actions |
For full details on each option, see PrimeFlow Mind Map Templates.
Add a template to a canvas
Step 1
Open PrimeFlow.
Step 2
Open the canvas where you want the template.
Step 3
Choose Templates from the PrimeFlow header.
Step 4
Choose a template.
Step 5
Edit the new topics and connections as needed.
PrimeFlow adds the selected template to the current canvas. You can move the new nodes, rename topics, connect them to other nodes, or delete parts you do not need.
Templates add content to the current canvas
If you want to preserve the canvas exactly as it is, use Save As first. See PrimeFlow Canvas Library and Saving.
Demo workspace profiles with PrimeFlow canvases
Demo Data and the first-run Setup Wizard can load full workspace profiles. These profiles can include PrimeFlow canvases alongside tasks, projects, notes, tags, and Pro content such as CRM records when available.
The eight demo profiles are:
- Creative Agency
- Freelance Designer
- Software Development
- Game Development Studio
- Audio Production
- Content Creator
- Startup Founder
- Personal Life & Goals
These demo profiles are different from the in-canvas Templates control. They create a populated Space, and that Space can include one or more PrimeFlow canvases.
Demo profiles are tier-aware
Demo workspace profiles support both Standard and Pro. Standard-compatible canvases avoid Pro-only node types. Pro-rich canvases can include advanced PrimeFlow examples such as portals, CRM nodes, files, folders, PDFs, Mermaid, and external app nodes when those features are available.
To load demo profiles, see Demo Data. To choose demo data during first setup, see Setup Wizard.
Things worth knowing
PrimeFlow templates are editable
After you add a template, its topics and connections become normal canvas content. You can rename, move, connect, duplicate, or delete them like other nodes.
Templates are not the same as saved canvases
A template adds starter content. A saved canvas stores your current work so you can return to it later.
For saved canvases, see PrimeFlow Canvas Library and Saving.
Demo profiles create complete examples
Demo profiles are better when you want to explore a realistic Space with content already connected. They can create tasks, projects, notes, CRM records, and PrimeFlow canvases together.
Pro-rich demo canvases can show advanced workflows
When Pro features are available, demo profiles can include richer PrimeFlow examples with portal journeys, advanced CRM nodes, and file-related nodes. Use these demos to understand how large connected workflows can look in practice.
Common questions
"Do PrimeFlow templates erase my current canvas?"
No. The template is added to the current canvas. Existing nodes and connections remain.
"Can I use templates on Standard?"
Yes. PrimeFlow templates are available on every PrimeTask license.
"Why do demo profiles create more than a template?"
Demo profiles are full workspace examples. They can create tasks, projects, tags, notes, CRM content when available, and PrimeFlow canvases together.
"Can a demo profile create a PrimeFlow canvas during setup?"
Yes. If you choose demo data in the Setup Wizard, the selected profile can create a PrimeFlow canvas as part of the populated Space.
