PrimeFlow Mind Map Templates
Use PrimeFlow mind map templates to add ready-made topic structures for planning, brainstorming, and problem solving.
Mind map templates help you start a canvas with a useful thinking structure already in place. Choose a template, then rename the topics, add more nodes, connect related work, and remove anything you do not need.
PrimeFlow currently includes five mind map templates: Blank, Standard Mind Map, Project Planning, Brainstorming, and Problem Solving.
Templates add to the current canvas
Choosing a mind map template adds new nodes and connections to the canvas you are already editing. It does not replace your existing canvas content.
What you can do
Start with one central topic
Create a basic mind map with main branches
Add a project planning structure
Capture several ideas from one main idea
Map a problem into causes, solutions, and actions
Rename template topics after adding them
Connect template topics to tasks, projects, notes, files, and other canvas nodes
Delete template nodes you do not need
Save a copy first on important canvases
If you are adding a template to a canvas you care about, use Save As first so you can keep the original version available.
How to open mind map templates
- Main navigation: Open PrimeFlow.
- PrimeFlow header: Choose Templates.
- Command palette: Press ⌘+K on macOS or Ctrl+K on Windows, search for PrimeFlow, then open Templates from the PrimeFlow header.
See PrimeFlow Header and Controls for the full header guide.
Template options
Blank
Use Blank when you want the smallest possible starting point.
Blank adds:
- Central Topic
Use it for a new idea, a new question, or a canvas section that you want to build manually.
Standard Mind Map
Use Standard Mind Map when you want a simple topic-and-branches structure.
Standard Mind Map adds:
- Central Topic
- Main Topic 1
- Main Topic 2
- Main Topic 3
PrimeFlow connects each main topic to the central topic.
Project Planning
Use Project Planning when you want to outline a project before turning parts of it into tasks or project records.
Project Planning adds:
- Project Name
- Goals
- Tasks
- Timeline
- Resources
- Sub Task 1
- Sub Task 2
PrimeFlow connects Goals, Tasks, Timeline, and Resources to Project Name. It also connects the two sub task topics to Tasks.
Project Planning is a mind map starter
It creates topic nodes, not full project records or task records. Add project and task nodes separately when you want real PrimeTask records on the canvas.
Brainstorming
Use Brainstorming when you want to capture several ideas around one main idea.
Brainstorming adds:
- Main Idea
- Idea 1
- Idea 2
- Idea 3
- Idea 4
- Idea 5
PrimeFlow connects each idea to Main Idea.
Problem Solving
Use Problem Solving when you want to break a problem into a structured action plan.
Problem Solving adds:
- Problem Statement
- Problem
- Root Causes
- Solutions
- Action Plan
- Cause 1
- Cause 2
- Solution 1
- Solution 2
PrimeFlow connects Problem, Root Causes, Solutions, and Action Plan to Problem Statement. It also connects Cause 1 and Cause 2 to Root Causes, and Solution 1 and Solution 2 to Solutions.
Templates are editable starting points
The template labels are only starters. Rename them to match your real project, idea, or problem.

Things worth knowing
Templates create topic nodes
Mind map templates create central topic, main topic, sub topic, and floating topic nodes. They do not create task records, project records, CRM records, files, or notes by themselves.
For node details, see PrimeFlow Mind Map Nodes.
Templates can be mixed with other node types
After adding a template, you can connect its topics to tasks, projects, notes, files, media, CRM nodes, or other mind map nodes.
Template connections can be edited
The connections added by a template are normal PrimeFlow connections. You can keep them, remove them, or create new ones.
For connection details, see PrimeFlow Connections and Edges.
Theme presets can be applied after adding templates
After adding a mind map template, you can apply a theme preset to supported mind map nodes.
For theme presets, see PrimeFlow Color Themes.
Common questions
"Can I add more than one mind map template to the same canvas?"
Yes. Each template adds more nodes and connections to the current canvas.
"Can I undo adding a template?"
Use Undo after adding the template if you want to step back from that change.
"Do mind map templates create tasks?"
No. They create topic nodes. Add task nodes separately when you want real task records.
"Are mind map templates Pro-only?"
No. Mind maps and templates are available on every PrimeTask license.
"Which template should I choose for project work?"
Use Project Planning when you want to outline goals, tasks, timeline, and resources before building the detailed project workflow.
