PrimeFlow Canvas Library and Saving
Use the PrimeFlow Canvas Library to open, create, save, rename, duplicate, and delete canvases in the active Space.
PrimeFlow canvases let you keep different visual workflows separate inside the same Space. You might use one canvas for a project map, another for a mind map, and another for a planning session.
The Canvas Library is where you manage those saved canvases. Use it to find a canvas, open it, rename it, duplicate it, or remove a canvas you no longer need.
Canvases belong to the active Space
The Canvas Library shows canvases for the Space you are currently using. Switch Spaces to manage another Space's canvases.
What you can do
Open a saved canvas
and continue working on it
Create a new blank canvas
Save the current canvas
Save a copy with a different name
Search saved canvases by name
Rename a saved canvas
Duplicate a canvas
Delete a canvas you no longer need
See how many nodes a canvas contains
See when a canvas was last opened
Use separate canvases for separate workflows
A focused canvas is usually easier to manage than one canvas that tries to hold every project, note, file, and relationship at once.
How to open the Canvas Library
- Main navigation: Open PrimeFlow.
- PrimeFlow header: Open the canvas actions menu, then choose Canvas Library.
- Command palette: Press ⌘+K on macOS or Ctrl+K on Windows, search for PrimeFlow, then open Canvas Library from the PrimeFlow header.
See PrimeFlow Header and Controls for the full header guide.
Saving a canvas
Save
Use Save to save the current canvas with its current name. This keeps your current canvas as the active canvas.
PrimeFlow can also auto-save canvas changes when auto-save is enabled in PrimeFlow Settings.
Save keeps the same canvas
Use Save when you want to update the canvas you are already working on.
Save As
Use Save As when you want to name the current canvas or create a separate copy under a different name.
If you save with a different name, PrimeFlow creates a separate saved canvas and makes that canvas current. This is useful when you want to preserve the original canvas before trying a new version of the workflow.
Use Save As before major changes
If you are about to restructure a complex canvas, save a copy first so the original remains available.
New Canvas
Use New Canvas to create a blank canvas. PrimeFlow asks you to name it, saves it, and opens it as the current canvas.
Use this when you want a fresh workspace instead of copying an existing canvas.
Using the Canvas Library
Search canvases
Use search in the Canvas Library to find saved canvases by name.
If you have many canvases, use the page controls to move through the saved list.
Open a canvas
Choose a canvas from the Canvas Library to open it. PrimeFlow switches the active canvas to the one you choose.
Opening another canvas does not delete the canvas you were working on.
Rename a canvas
Use Rename to change a canvas name without changing its nodes or connections.
The default canvas cannot be renamed from the Canvas Library.
Duplicate a canvas
Use Duplicate to create a new saved canvas from an existing one. PrimeFlow asks for a name for the duplicate.
Duplicating is useful when you want to make a new version of a workflow while keeping the original available.
Delete a canvas
Use Delete to remove a saved canvas you no longer need. PrimeFlow asks for confirmation before deleting it.
Deleting a canvas removes the visual canvas, including its nodes and connections. Linked tasks, projects, contacts, companies, and files remain in their original places.
Deleting a canvas cannot be undone
Delete only when you are sure you no longer need that canvas. Duplicate the canvas first if you want a backup version.
Things worth knowing
The default canvas is protected
PrimeFlow keeps a default canvas available. The default canvas cannot be deleted.
The current canvas is protected from deletion
PrimeFlow does not delete the canvas you are currently using from the Canvas Library. Open another canvas first, then delete the old one if needed.
Save and Save As are different
Save updates the current canvas. Save As can create a separate canvas when you choose a different name.
Canvas names help search and organization
Use names that describe the workflow, project, or planning session. Clear names make the Canvas Library easier to search later.
Canvases and export are separate
Saving a canvas keeps it available inside PrimeFlow. Export creates an image file for sharing or archiving outside PrimeFlow.
For export, see PrimeFlow Export.
Common questions
"Can I have more than one PrimeFlow canvas?"
Yes. Unlimited canvases are available on every PrimeTask license.
"Does deleting a canvas delete my tasks or contacts?"
No. Deleting a canvas removes the visual canvas. Your linked tasks, projects, contacts, companies, and files remain available in their original PrimeTask areas.
"Why can I not delete the canvas I am using?"
PrimeFlow protects the current canvas from deletion. Open a different canvas first, then return to the Canvas Library and delete the old canvas.
"Should I use Duplicate or Save As?"
Use Duplicate from the Canvas Library when you want to copy a saved canvas without opening it first. Use Save As when you are already working on a canvas and want the current version saved under a different name.
"Are Canvas Library features Pro-only?"
No. Unlimited canvases and Canvas Library management are available on every PrimeTask license.
