Private sync across your own computers
One Space on every computer you own, through a cloud folder, a NAS at home or your iCloud account, on Standard or Pro.
Private sync keeps one PrimeTask Space on every computer you own: through a cloud folder you already use, a NAS at home or, when every computer is a Mac, your iCloud account. Each computer works on its own copy, even offline, and PrimeTask runs no sync server of its own.

Two or four of your own computers on one Space, and what leaves your home with each choice
The problem
Work you keep on one computer stays there when you move to the other. Send it through someone else's app to fix that, and it lives on their server.
A folder of your own, or your own iCloud account, fixes both: every computer keeps a full copy of the Space, and only the changes travel between them.
Tip. Every computer a Mac? iCloud Native is the simplest way: there is no folder to pick.

Install PrimeTask on each computer
Setup wizard (opens in a new tab)Install PrimeTask on the desktop and the laptop. The setup wizard opens on its first launch and gets the workspace ready in a few minutes.
Standard covers two computers and Pro covers four.
Step 2
Choose how your Space travels
Sync modes overview (opens in a new tab)If every computer is a Mac, use iCloud Native: it syncs through your Apple ID. With a Windows PC in the mix, or only Windows, use File Sync with a folder every computer can reach: one in a cloud service you already use, or a NAS share at home. Give PrimeTask its own folder, inside one provider only.
Step 3
Set the Space to sync
File Sync Personal (opens in a new tab)On the desktop, open Settings → Spaces and open your Space. For File Sync, choose File Sync, pick the folder, keep Personal under Who uses this Space? and turn on Password Protection. For Macs only, choose iCloud Native instead. Save, and the first sync sends your Space on its way.
Step 4
Bring the Space onto the laptop
Joining a shared Space (opens in a new tab)On the laptop, open Settings → File Sync, click Join Shared Space and pick the same folder: it's the same wizard for your own computers. With iCloud Native, open PrimeTask on the other Mac, signed in to the same Apple ID, and the Space appears or can be imported from iCloud.
Step 5
Take the laptop anywhere
File Sync Personal (opens in a new tab)Work on either computer, or both at once: the most recent change wins. Away from home, the laptop keeps working on its own copy. With a cloud folder or iCloud it syncs whenever it's online; with a NAS, a VPN to your home network or your NAS's own remote access lets it sync as if it were home. Without one, its edits wait until it's back.
The checklist
The whole list
Before you rely on it:
- PrimeTask on each computer: two on Standard, four on Pro
- Every computer a Mac: iCloud Native, each Mac on the same Apple ID
- Any Windows PC: File Sync in a folder every computer reaches, inside one provider only
- Personal kept and Password Protection on, with the password somewhere you trust
- Your other computers joined through Join Shared Space
- A NAS and a laptop that travels: a VPN or remote access to your home network
- Daily backups with a password, in Settings → Data Management

Questions
Common questions
No. Syncing your own computers works on Standard, including bringing your Space onto a second computer. Standard covers two computers and Pro covers four.
If every computer is a Mac, iCloud Native is the simplest. If any of them is a Windows PC, use File Sync with a folder they all reach, such as a cloud folder you already use or a NAS at home.
Not with Password Protection on. Your Space is encrypted before it reaches the folder, so the provider stores files it can't read. Without a password, it sees the Space's files as they are.
The most recent change wins, and PrimeTask settles it for you. Everyday edits on two computers at once don't produce noticeable conflicts.
No. PrimeTask runs no sync server of its own. File Sync goes through the folder you chose, and iCloud Native through your own iCloud account.
